If you cut an apple in half and leave it for a bit, it goes brown. You can stop it turning brown with lemon juice. So, this idea is for a knife with inkjet printer nozzles inside the blade which can apply an image in lemon juice to the inside of an apple as you cut though it. So, the effect is that you
cut through an apple and an image slowly emerges as the
non-lemon-juiced bits turn brown.

You could use something like this for all sorts of creepy effects. Figure out who packs the lunches for ISIS and send them messages from Allah, like Mohammad with a bomb in his turban, eating 72 raisins in hell or somesuch... |
You know, nobody ever said those 72 virgins were
female. |
Or even human. They might be camels, for example. |
Here hippo gave this nice image of a magic apple, and all you
have to talk about is beheadings? |
At least I understand this idea. A bun just for that. And I like
it. Though apples don't usually sit around on my counter long
enough for the "real" show to begin. |
Great idea with a ridiculous method. Maybe if the blade had a turning /rolling belt with an image in the center so that when the blade pierces the skin the belt starts to roll as it enters the apple, depositing acidic juices on the surfaces. |
That might work better - another alternative approach would be to have a matrix of tiny heating elements in the blade. |
+ wonderfully halfbaked. It would also be nice to cover the
entire slice to prevent it from turning brown, but that might
be too practical! |
Excellent, we could try with some stencils to see the effect meanwhile |
Would this work for beheadings too? |
Not sure a fruit knife is big enough. |
Depends on how patient one is, surely? |
Either very patient or mental patient should suffice. |

//Magical latent image fruit knife |

Magical lateen image fruit knife might suit the more nautical types...got stopped by the police apparently cos I was wearing sandals on a cold and rainy day. |
//They might be camels // |
That's not necessarily a bad thing ... |
