<tUAtM> tag

"the universe according to me" (the author) tag on web pages
  (-2)
(-2)
  [vote for,
against]

This mandatory or voluntary tag serves as antediluvian warning issued by the writer, revealing that the following opinion or scholarship results from the sum of their own experience, knowlegde, etc., as opposed to a collective work of inclusive consilience crafted over many lifetimes and self-admittedly applicable to the limited context of the known world.

[Alternatively, tUAtU (us).]

isn't it enough to say "in my opinion" (or variants thereof)?
xaviergisz, Mar 09 2005

Well, there's no invention in that, [xaviergisz].

       Or <conjecture>?

I'm not sure about the merits of the idea, but I'd think that it could be more usefully described as meta data, or a bit of Dublin Core rather than a new tag.

//more usefully described as meta data//
I don't think it's even that. HTML tags describe how the text will "appear" when rendered by a user agent. Meta data provides information about the content of the page. This is just saying "This may not be correct". It will not render any differently (unless the style sheet says so, in which case it's the same as a <span>), and no additional information about the content is provided. It's just a disclaimer.

um, i don't like it because i would always read it, "twat-um."

<off subject> Maybe we should have a folksonomy for ideas here? Assigned both by the idea owner and the annotators. Might make for some very interesting browsing and associations.
