Some HB ideas just scream at me to match them up with another idea - think 'Church of No Pants' matched with 'Tails for All'.

There was one very lonely idea (now sadly deleted) called 'Paint Nebraska White' that never seemed to have a natural pairing ... which has always troubled me. From memory, the idea was to compensate for the reduction in size of the polar ice caps and control global warming by using Nebraska as a giant reflector.

Well, imagine my joy upon reading that scientists at Sekisui Chemical have found a way to produce vanilla extract (vanillin) from cow turds. The process is even cheaper than getting it from vanilla beans.

Nebraska has lots of cows... I'm thinking a vanilla milkshake lake. Reflective, cheap and delicious. Who could complain?

I'll be checking the labels from now on. [ConsulFlaminicus, Mar 08 2006]

       Paint everything green?

Of course Lime Thickshakes are the Food of the Gods [po] but no, in this case we make Nebraska white, not by painting but by inundation with vanilla milk.

Ew! I'm never eating another cookie!

I confess to be the creator and destroyer of "Paint Nebraska White"... my intentions were good, but the idea was fairly well baked as my more learned colleagues of the Bakery were quick to helpfully point out..... I'm presently cooking up something else to match.

Sadly, vanilla extract is a dark brown.
jellydoughnut, Mar 08 2006

Not artificial vanilla. Unless it is colored.
Galbinus_Caeli, Mar 08 2006

       Bean there, dung that.

Why Nebraska? It's always Nebraska in these far-fetched anti-global-warming schemes, but why?
jellydoughnut, Mar 09 2006

Why not just rename Alaska "Nebraska" and save all that work?
wagster, Mar 09 2006

       Baked Nebraska.

       Yum, yum.

Think she knows about that mole on her nose? I dunno, but I'll Nebr aska.

//Sadly, vanilla extract is a dark brown.// O'doughy if only you had advised Sekisui earlier, their search for vanillin could have been narrowed down to turds and Chicken McNuggets some time ago.
ConsulFlaminicus, Mar 09 2006

Upon that news, I'm never eating vanilla again. Damn. I liked vanilla.
RayfordSteele, Mar 10 2006

       I don't know, but Alaska.
