Rolodex Bible*

Designed to rotate

This Idea is only partly original with myself. It should be enough for the HalfBakery, though.

At first glance this Bible* looks like most other books. However, the covers are designed to snap off/on.

When the covers are off, the edges of the spine, where the covers were attached, is what we now pay attention to. The whole spine is designed to bend backwards into a circle, letting us snap those edges together.

The covers now come back into play; on their inner surfaces they have ring-shaped attachment points. The top and bottom rings that were just created above, by manipulating the book spine, now attach to those points. These attachments are loose, allowing rotation to occur.

The whole Bible* is now presented to the user in Rolodex form. It now becomes very easy to rotate the text for some random amount of time, stopping at a genuinely random point, so that you can be spiritually guided by some random verse.

When done, you can undo the snaps and reassemble it in ordinary book form, for easier transportation or storage.

*NOTE: this overall Idea could be applied to various other inspirational books, as appropriate.

"I Am the First, and the Last. Before Abraham was, I AM."

Strangely also appropriate to the Hindu faith.

I think the pages should be aligned the other way, tangentially rather than radially; ie. rolled up. Then the bible will resemble toilet paper even more!

I woke up this morning understanding why this concept was appropriate to the Hindu faith!

Cheap rolodex bibles can be given to everyone you love this christmas by simply completing the following steps: 1) aquire many bibles (many bibles can be aquired quite easily) 2) straighten some wire coat hangers 3) bend coathangers into the following shape >-< 4) use adhesive tape to affix middle section of coathanger to spine of bibles 5) open the bibles and glue the front and back covers together 6) Adjust coathangers to make stand.
