Why aren't their hubcaps and rims that one can buy which have images on them? For instance, one's favorite sports team or Tweety Bird. Perhaps a company logo or a personalized image. Maybe a glow int the dark image? It could be a decal pasted on the hubcap or maybe even have it etched directly into the rim or hubcap. Maybe even images that aren't visible until your wheels are turned at a certain RPM.

Annotation:

The taxis in most of my state's larger cities have counterweighted spinners that stay upright as the wheels turn, displaying ad space. Is that the sort of thing you have in mind, only with your personalized image?

Good question. Maybe because hubcaps are regularly stolen, prone to loss and damage, and are nonessential.

Not in my neighbourhood. Anyways, a personalized hubcap saying "rcarty" or "Halfbakery Rules" might diminish the probability of being stolen. I have seen the ones [Alterother] mentions but can't remember whether in Oz or the Great White North.

If they can do it for my Gimp-o-mobile, I don't see why they can't do it for automobiles. <link>

Some cabs in Toront have the static ones. Looked cute when they first came out.

@Alterother: Yes, that is one iteration of what I had in mind. I remember the Batmobile had the bat logo on its rims. I can get personalized license plate frames, steering wheel covers, stick shifts, floor mats, etc. But no rims/hubcaps. It is puzzling to me. I would think that if someone sold these, they would make a killing.

You can get them; they're very expensive and not widely advertised, directed primarily at rap artists and the rich white kids who emulate them. They're made at certain custom hot rod shops and sold for thousands of dollars a set. I see them at car shows occasionally.
