Personal Rapid Transportation without any pods. Just dagnling
ropes that you can hang onto. Maybe a seat too. You can attach
your traveling harness to it, which will become standard in large
cities. You can attach your suitcase and run alongside it, or just
connect to an adjacent rope.

paid rope will take you into the fast lane.

Sometimes you get things a bit like this at ski-resorts, to pull
the skiers up a hill, so at least the tech isn't an issue. |

I foresee peril despite many posted cautions and warnings as riders begin
playing with their cell phones, forgetting that they must hang on or be
jostled off onto the tarmac, resulting in injuries and death. |
