Install a water wheel in the hydrogen engine's exhaust system, which will power a small alternator, which will produce energy. Several gerbil-wheels could be added in-line to increase torque output, adding even more energy.

This is the same idea behind "Exhaust-driven turbine alternators" except for the gerbil-wheels, and its for a hydrogen powered engine. |

Anything combining rodentia and hydrogen gets my vote. |
Gerbils on helium? Anyone want to vote for that? |
Gerbils on Helium? That is just silly. |

They don't half have high voices, though. |
Will this reduce/decrease hydrogen pedelling ????? |

Who have no voice of their own! |
Your idea would cook them, |
To place gerbils in waterwheels |
Or the engine's exhaust stream, |
Must drown the little fellows, |
Or cause their innards to steam! |
