Oh, I see, like this? (link) |
[bz] As usual this idea didn't make much sense until your addition. I was thinking a donut in another donut's donut hole. But with the triple-dipped triple-fried donut the potential size is without limit. |
Well, I'm not sure that what I sketched is what [nichpo] intended. |
was that one of dusty's anyway? suppose if nichpo says so, I believe him/her |
I have been meaning to ask for ages - does nichpo mean not po? |
Perhaps [np]'s your evil twin. |
Mmmmmmm, dooooooooughnuts... (in my best homer simpson voice) |
[worldengineer] that is an Iced Danish Pastry as well you know! |
In the US we call them cinnamon rolls. My point is that this is what [np] is describing exactly. Unless it's [bz]'s concept, which doesn't quite fit the "Round like a circle in a spiral like a wheel within a wheel" part. |
[wg] I love the ones with cinnamon. I think that the original idea is like this: Take a small ring doughnut. Add a new doughnut so that the original doughnut is inserted in the new doughnut hole. Repeat if necessary. Bristolz has a very good take on the idea that involves some jam/layer/scaling mathematics. I am thinking about one more that is an impossible figure but I am withholding that until I get the picture straight! |
I thought for a moment I was someone's evil twin (I can neither confirm or deny). you could even make a rope of rings inside rings. if people were really hungry. or there were lots of you. |
Sorry, I meant [nichpo]. Though let me know if I stumbled onto something. |
Actually I'm my own evil twin (was tripplets for a while but we had to 'erase' nichpo#3). And I don't believe I'm a relative of [po] though I do vaguely remember a drunken party in Teletubby land many moons ago; so anythings possible. |
Oh and thanks [bristolz] that was totally what I wasn't thinking about but much better. |
Thanks, angel. I can *never* remember the rest of the words to that song. |
Um Ms Springfield did a good rendition though. And just to say my original idea differs from the danish/cinnamon roll idea because you can order up whichever combinations you want i.e. a custurd one surrounded by a lemon icing one, embraced by a chocolate one. ummm |
Why didn't you say so in the first place? You've now earned a fluffy baked treat. Please provide construction details. |
Totally? That it is round, did I get that part right? |
Tim Hortons used to make a huge donut called a "Snow Tire", one of my favourites. Stopped making them about 20 years ago, but the nest would be a great replacement! |
You remember Tim Hortons from twenty years ago? You lucky canuck you! |
[Worldgineer] You are right I should have explained this a bit better in the beginning, it's just the windmills of my mind always start spinning when I think of that song. [bristolz] Sorry, I was using the word 'Totally' in its lesser known sense of 'Partially'. I did like your idea better though. |
