Heat-Bomb Dumping EV Cargo Catamaran

short-circuit damage limitation

Buoyancy is provided by the two catamaran hulls.

Cargo is stored in a separate space which bridges those two hulls, and which is normally clear of the water.

If a battery in the cargo hold shorts out and starts to exhibit signs of thermal runaway, an emergency hatch opens and dumps the offending electric vehicle (only) into the ocean.

A chain reaction is thereby prevented, and the ship does not sink.
