Basically a pair of gloves with a powerpack and light source contained in a small box, probably mounted on the wrist or back of the hand, with a fibre optic cable going to each fingertip, giving illumination where it is needed.

Excellent idea, and it doesn't seem to be baked. This would be very useful while working in dark, confined spaces, such as for plumbing and finding stuff down the back of the sofa. |

PeterSealy: I don't think the Laser Glove is intended as a source of light, just as a source of red spots. It'd be handy instead of a laser pointer for really complex presentations, though. |

This seems like a really good idea, even if it were just one fingertip with a lightsource. Useful for all manner of work in dimly lit areas. Just a bright white LED would work (there are white LEDs now, aren't there?) |

Surface mounted LEDs woven into the fabric of the glove would be pretty easy to do. Making the power source, on/off switch and (if available) brightness adjustment small and comfortable might be difficult. Croissant nonetheless. |

[Rods Tiger] What a great link to the LED stuff. I have now found excellent Christmas gifts in flashlights that run up to 100 hours on a set of batteries and are very bright as well. Everyone could use one of those things. |

fingertip mounted is a really cool idea, but it seems that the goggles you can buy with the lights mounted on each side of the head about where the eyes are would be more practical, since your eyes need the light not your fingertips. |

Have the light source point at your fingertips from the base of your palm, on a thin stalk, fixed to a wrist band. If need be you could bend your hand down and grab the stalk for precision pointing. And maybe a second stalk over the back of the hand along the back of the middle finger, with the light at the tip. |

I had something like that ages ago - five thick wires going from battery pack to a red LED each. The battery pack was velcro strapped around the wrist and each LED clipped onto a finger, using a smaller plastic version of those spring steel pipe clip thingies. |
