I wonder, how small could you make a working theramin?
zen_tom, Oct 30 2009

Fairly small.... it should be possible to mount the oscillator electronics remotely from the antennae.

[bigsleep] Quite - where is the MIDI Theremin?
hippo, Oct 31 2009

MIDI probably doesn't have the capability to properly encode the continuously variable output of a Theremin.

//MIDI// bandwidth is 31.25 kbaud and there's not that much in the way of overhead (which can usually be turned off anyways), so yes there is enough bandwidth to use a theremin as a MIDI controller, but each CC is only 7 bit resolution. Moog (formerly Big Briar (formerly Moog))) used to make one.
