At the risk of "going all Hallmark", I know you put a lot of work into this site, covering the expense of it's maintenance without any monetary compensation. I think you've created the most interesting and compelling social site on the web and I appreciate this great thing you've made for all of us to enjoy.

Happy holidays to you and yours and thank you again for the Halfbakery.

Indubitably. That goes for the mods as well.

(Pauses to imagine [jutta] looking kicking at the dust and saying "Gosh, you guys...".

Realizes this imagining is probably quite far off base.

Decides instead to name the forthcoming overhanging extension of the upper SSE library "The Jutt" in her honour.)

Thank you, Jutta. I wandered off for a while - too long - and I'm very glad to find this site still here to return to.

Yes, thanks. I don't come here very often at the moment but I think I'll come back eventually.

How about a bun [+] AND a song!?

To paraphrase the words of Mr Cole Porter (imagine this being sung by the incomparable Miss Sarah Vaughan):

The HB's so nice to come home to
The HB's so nice for my mind
While the breeze on high sings a lullaby
The HB makes it easy to unwind

Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burnin' above
The HB's just so nice, it's a paradise
To come home to and love!

       Many thanks Jutta!

Ah, a bun and a song. Almost better than a bun alone.

Dammit! Is there a female equivalent of "fellow"?
Anyway, thankyou [Jutta] and all those who help run this crazy corner of the 'net.

Psst., [21Q]; "fellow" isn't actually gendered, so you don't need to re-gender it. OED records use of "fellow" referring to a woman from 1611. Its primary sense is something like "partner or companion in a venture". Of course, you can re-gender it if you like - but you don't need to.

The Halfbakery is an intellectual and emotional sanctuary to me, and my sincere thanks go to [jutta] for existentionating it.

I am grateful as well to all here who suffer my presence with good humor and patience, and also to [bigsleep], who cannot do so but tries very hard.

Thanks to guda, for the forum where the Ideas rarely reify but are always in the hyperreality of existence displayed on the refied Idea of symbolic exchange, the Internet.

       Thanks and happy holidays!

This site lets me set my Great Ideas free before they build up a head of crazy. I also don't know where else I would learn so much about grammar.
sninctown, Dec 06 2013

The Halfbakery has literally saved my life.

Well, by “literally”, I mean “metaphorically”. And by “saved” I mean “caused me to idly spend a great deal of”. And by “life” I mean “time when I should have been doing other things”. On second thought, by “literally” I really did mean “literally”.

All jokes aside, this site and community really do mean a great deal to me. I once heard the site described as a “big virtual couch”, and that's about as apt a description as I can think of. So thanks to [jutta] for hosting the couch, and thanks to all of you as well for making it a cozy place to flop down for a bit!
