The phrase 'crumpled heap' comes to mind.

Swiss Army Kitchen Knife

If Swiss Army made a chef's pocket tool, what should it include?

No idea why I thought of this, but it occurred to me: a pocket tool for chefs.

Here's what I think it would include:

Offset knife - paring, but also oriented to work as a proper chef's knife for chopping, maybe by ratcheting at an angle to keep knuckles away from the counter. Would have the proper curve for chopping as well.

Tongs/flipper - flat metal that fans out to be a spatula/flipper, then has a release to be tongs.

Microfine grater Poultry scissors Two prong fork Flint & steel Sharpener Thermometer Soup spoon with measuring marks Corkscrew (classic)

Wow, you've been here a long time. Does it surprise you that you have been here for 15 years? Yikes. That makes you an old timer so to speak.

Anyway, about the idea, I like the concept, but think that it would be a bit bulky, and maybe clumsy to use. It sure would make an impression, though, when in someone's pocket.

"Is that a Swiss Army Chef's Knife in your pocket or are you just... oh, OK, it's a Swiss Army Chef's knife."

Oh, where to attach the blender, Kitchen Aid mixer, waffle iron, and pot holders?

//Is there a gadget for extracting horse DNA from burgers ?//

It's called a PhD student, cheap, but they might get disillusioned and wander off. The key is to get one from an absolute mess of a country, that way it's extract the horse DNA or it's back to Gulagistan.

The AI version of this is the cook in Schlock Mercenary. He began life as a smart bomb but has been repurposed into an intelligent blender / chopper.
