Secure Dogdoor

Retinal Scanners for dogs

The idea is to hook a retinal scanner to a dog door to increase the security of the home. I've seen it done with radio transmitting collars but they eventually run out of batteries and your pooch is stranded outside in the rain. Problems: scanner won't identify dog if he's been smoking pot. Tailgateing; as long as they don't let the door close, anyone could come in directly after the dog, but seriously who would want to get that close to the business end of a dog?

This should work, using retinal scans or more likely some variant of facial recognition technology, which is very accurate now

[+] just for the really clever "tailgating" pun
