Pepper Sprinklers
Along the same lines as longshot's "sprinkler security system", though possibly just a hair OVER the line.... | |
Special sprinklers along the sides of the house that, rather than water, spray pepperspray in all directions. Motion-activated.
To avoid lawsuits from would-be burglars who might get permanent eye damage, these would be situated close to the house, with regular, harmless water sprinklers around
the
perimeter of the lawn, as well as the usual warning signs stating "WARNING: EYE IRRITANT" as well as verbal warnings from automated speakers.

How do the sprinklers deduce who is a
burglar? |
Oops, sorry! Left that part out by mistake. I was thinking motion sensors that come on when your home security system is activated. When you come home, all you have to do is punch a code into a keypad at the end of the driveway.

Could they spray out glue instead? |
As long as it's activated by the householder, not one of those computer systems that always runs amok in films and TV shows, fine with me. Sure beats opening up with the shotgun. |

Perhaps tar, or boiling oil? |
As your downwind neighbor, I implore you not to install this omnidirectional system, that goes off daily due to birds. I prefer my chances with your shotgun. |
Since I probably live across the street from you two, could you stick with the pepper spray until I redo my walls with cinderblock and install some steel shutters on the windows? No offense, but I don't know how good your aim is. |
