With the obesity epidemic, many overweight men find themselves to be disturbingly buxom. It is one thing to have a manly paunch, but breasts are another matter entirely. Part of this phenomenon is due to the fact that adipose tissue generates estrogen. With estrogen comes a female pattern of fat deposition
- and breasts begin to grow.
The aromatase inhibitors are a new class of drugs developed to treat breast cancer, which work by blocking all estrogen synthesis in the body. I propose that a daily dose of one of these drugs could prevent fatty tissue from synthesizing estrogen. The result: de-estrogenized men would deposit fat on the gut, where manfat belongs, leaving the chest flat and hairy. There may be other beneficial side effect to these estrogen blocking drugs, such as a greater appreciation for the Three Stooges.

Brilliant idea! And I may have just found your most loyal customers. [link] |

I'll give you a croissant for calling men "buxom." And it's a good idea, to boot. |
|
|
One note, though - it's not actually the adipose tissue that generates estrogen and its precursors - the body detects a higher level of fat in the body, and reacts by having the adrenal glands (ittybitty things on top of the kidneys) generate estrogen. |

So while obesity causes estrogen production, it's not a direct link - there are some intermediaries. |

We call 'em "chap-paps" round here. Well, I do anyway. |

I mis-read this as Manboob Bustier. Something to enhance them. |

I liked Klaatu's link. I have renewed faith in being able to use the power of my mind to will my tummy fat into a nearby jam jar. |
