The idea is simple: Spray paint the phrase "Lorem ipsum dolor
sit amet, consectetur..." onto various prominent surfaces in
urban areasbuildings, signs, freeway overpasses, etc.in the
same style as the surrounding graffiti.
Urban art project? Dadaist public exhibition? Or just plain
vandalism?
Let the viewer decide.

More pointless graffiti
http://www.someecar...ffiti-funny-picture To be honest though, does any graffiti ever say anything other than "I have nothing better to do than daub on other people's property"? [zen_tom, Jun 10 2011]

Graffiti is territorial aggression. The sub-title of this idea suggests that existing graffiti *does* have something to say, but on the whole I think not. [-] |
|
|
Or is it perhaps pointing out that most graffiti actually has
*nothing* to say? Let the annotator decide. |
|
|
Graffiti has a lot to say- but you need to remain open to the observation to hear it. On the other hand, annotators are like graffiti artists who write in these small boxes... |

//Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?// Seems quite appropriate for a learned graffitist to me. |
|
|
"...pleasure that has no annoying consequences..." |
|
|
I would argue that this graffiti does have an annoying consequence; It says "look how smart I am!" which I find as bad as typical graffiti which says "look at me!" |
|
|
The only thing I see as postiive is misspelling a word to see how long it takes somebody to come along and correct it. |
|
|
{pedantry} [ytk] I think mean "most graffiti actually
have nothing to say".
One graffito, many graffiti. |

Sorry, but I think your data are incorrect. "Graffiti"
is widely accepted to be a mass noun (at least, by
those not pushing an agendum) and can therefore
can take the singular when being discussed in
general. Of course, there are plenty of other fora
for this type of discussion on the Internet, so no need
to delve into the matter here. But if you'd like,
sometime I'll take you out for cappuccini and a
biscotto so we can discuss it. |
|
|
But you could use the same argument about data, or
people...
..if I hear another person at work say "less data" or
"less people" well I'll....grrrr...
|
|
|
Although of course, I'm up for anyone taking me out
for a Capuccino, but always with biscotti - I never
eat just one! ;) |

One of the best ideas I've seen in a while -- it'd make many
a typesetter's day just to see this! |

Why are halfbakers against advocacy ideas? |

I think everyone should be anti-advocacy. |
