This dish is a little like turducken. (background: Turducken is a chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey; some people eat this triple-animal feast for Thanksgiving dinner.)

A horscowgoadocabirwormspifly (pronounced HORSE ca go DOCK a bur WORM spih fly) is similar, but it's a fly wrapped in a spider wrapped in a worm wrapped in a bird wrapped in a cat . . . wrapped in everything else the Old Woman Who Swallowed A Fly also ate. (Dog, goat, cow, and horse, to finish it off)

All this stuff is perfectly edible, not always by our particular culture, but definitely *somewhere* in the world. Squeamish people may want to substitute spaghetti for the worm and licorice flavored candies for the spider & fly, but purists will undoubtedly object.

Annotation:

She died. Probably from something the fly was carrying. If she didn’t eat the fly, it might be safe to eat the old woman as well.

I'm not sure how comfortable I would be eating a meal that had killed the only other person to eat it.

       Ha ha ha (+)

My in-laws have a recipe for stuffed camel:

       40 kilos tomatoes, stuffed into
20 chickens, stuffed into
4 lambs, stuffed into
1 camel, roasted for one day and fed to 150 people.

I personally feel like I have been reeled in, "hook, line and sinker". Hence, I won't grant it an answer, a bun, a bone, or even a heave.

It's that darn name thing again, isn't it? Must go bun [viola] - it might be stupid but it's very true.

-How do you pronounce it? -Like it's spelled.

I thought hippo did the ultimate long title idea, a while back, or was it bubba ? But lately, it seems, I am remembering many ideas, or sorts of ideas, resurfacing, re-named, and re...ergh, gergatated. (Can I get by with that word?)

Where did the worm come from? Thers no worm in the version I heard.

       Worm forsooth!

       + though

I would think that would be really disgusting, but wow. I definitely would never have come up with something like that. Hats off to you phundug!

You're right, where the heck did I get "worm" from? I guess it's because it had rained in the park recently and the robins were slurping up exposed worms by the hundreds this morning. But a worm eating a spider? Guess I need a new biology lesson.

Are we so mindless that all it takes to draw us in is a confusing title?

//Are we so mindless that all it takes to draw us in is a confusing title// Apparently, yes.

I think this dish can be compounded further still. ahem..... "Whalelephantiger sheepandanteater dogorillama- catfish-frog-fly." (I am assuming we have here a very small gorilla and a very large dog.)
