Flat Cap Magnetic Cat Flap

Hat-based pet door design.

A rigid frame is fitted into a suitably-sized and positioned aperture in an external door.

Attached to the frame, in place of the more usual plastic or metal shutter, is a classic Northern English "Flat cap" as seen in many movies from the early 20th Century.

The cap is sprayed with waterproofing to prevent deterioration.

Magnets sewn into the brim of the cap stop it swinging open in the wind, but do not hold it so firmly that animals cannot push it aside to pass in and out.

Is this so that a few times a day, just for an instant, your cat will look very jaunty?

I'm worried about the animals that pass out.

// squeezing through small apertures //

It's a fashion thing. Apparently, turret hatches are being worn lower this year.
