We've all heard of those specialty shops and "of-the-month" clubs that provide the discerning and adventurous consumer with meats beyond what you'd normally find in a local grocer. Kangaroo? Rattlesnake? We got 'em all.
But why stop there?
I propose a cheese-of-the-month club and catalog (an
actual store would probably not be feasible for the small demand I anticipate) that specializes in cheeses made from the milk of exotic mammals. Think of it: March could come in like a sharp lion cheddar, and in January you could remind yourself that the ocean is even colder than where you are now with a nice killer whale gruyere.
Milk would be harvested in cooperation with local zoos and water parks, many of which already supplement their babies' natural nursing with a fortified formula.

I'd try it. Only problem is who's going to milk the lion? A better man than I, I say! Buy that man a drink, for he has no arms to reach for his wallet anymore! |

"Venezuelan Beaver Cheese, perchance?" |

there are enough exotic cheeses just visit a real cheese shop, besides sheep milk cheese exists. |
Ha! Depends where you are Tabs. I think that the Inuits would be most surprised to see a flock of sheep wandering across the ice and there probably aren't too many of them in the Amazon rainforests either. |
True sheep aren't exotic, i go for dog's milk cheese should last for ever... |
I don't know how strange this could be for most people. It is for me! Here in México pig cheese and goat cheese are very common. I don't know if I'd dare to try whale cheese... or dog cheese! Ew! Still, I'm sure other people would. Great idea! A good croissant with melted cheese for you. |
excellent suggestion [angel], first cheese that came into my head too. |
I did once find a link for human cheese, but I can't seem to relocate it. |
I went to this one place but they were
all cleaned out of cheese before I got
there. It ticked me off. + |
"Not much of a cheese shop, is it?" |
The only human cheese that I heard of was from males... |
//a nice killer whale gruyere//? Only if you know how to milk a whale. |
Mmmm kangaroo cheese. Puts a spring in your step. Marsupials make milk right? |
*er.... I think many would prefer lionESS cheese... but that's just an assumption on my part. |

Boy did I misinterpret this title and description!!! |

I have no valid reason for shuddering at the thought of this but I am. Damn my cultural conditioning! |
