Cat Gin

Cotton gin for cats

If you own a long hair cat keeping then looking like something other than an old mop is a real chore, particularly if the critter doesn't appreciate the attention. What's needed is something like a cotton gin: a pair of rollers with fine wires on them to 'card' the cat hair into some semblance of order. Maybe set the rollers up vertically (like in a car wash) in a tunnel between cat and tasty treats. Result: brushed kitty rewarded by treats, eager to do it again.

We like muchly ... if, that is, the roller spacing is fully adjustable.

I may be mistaken, but I think something like this was done with cat doors in the past.

What, heavy rollers with sharp spikes, set 100mm apart and driven with a 5kVA 3-phase motor ? Wow, who knew, huh ?

I assumed this was going to be some kind of flavouring.

Yeah, this is going to need a LOT of ice.

With a bit more machinery you can have custom socks to keep your feet warm.

       "card" - hook-side velcro, belt-sander style

With a long enough belt, you could get a fair bit of speed out of one of those...

<Chokes back overwhelming urge to disenage safety catch and shout "PULL !">
