Ready-Made Toothbrush Shank   (+6)  [vote for, against]
You probably won't need it if you're not in prison, but just in case.

Toothbrush comes from the factory already sharp and ready for any morning routine oriented shanking job you may run into.

Dental care is important, so is being prepared if some escaped mass murderer broke into your house last night and is hiding in your shower ready to jump you as you brush your teeth.

With this, you can take care of both. (Garrote dental floss not included)

Another fine product from PsyCo.

For Sale by Mental Patient http://pages.total.net/~fishnet/
There used to be a link to this somewhere around here. [rcarty, Sep 05 2012]

Reminds me of the idea to run a knife-sharpening business outside nightclubs and youth centres.

This is nothing more than a cynical ploy to exploit violence, paranoia and no-holds- barred survivalism.

Very good. Carry on … [+]

I like it. A lot!

this would be a shiv, not a shank... Shirley?
-- bs0u0155, Sep 05 2012

You know, I'm thinking you may be right. I think "shank" may be the verb of what you get from the noun "shiv". In other words you get "shanked" by a "shiv".

Let me check.

Nope, both work as a noun but "shank" can be either. Although I suppose you could make a past tense verb out of any noun. You could hit somebody with a wrench and say you "wrenched" the guy.

Like the song says, You say shiv, and I say shank, etc.

Update: That was totally wrong. One post says a shank is made out of metal only and a shiv is made out of plastic, glass etc.

So, thank you bs0u0155. Changing the title.

Eh, changing it back. Shank looks better.

Will there be a blunt version available for practice, theatrical and re-enactment use?

Could also read "toothpick". Terrifying to someone with a bacteriology degree.

Off topic, waaaaay off topic. From rcarty's link:

OUCHY THE GREEN NOSED REINDEER!!!

You know Donner and Dixon, And Flapper and Glucose, Comet and Crumpet, And Mustard and Sucrose. But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all?

(Please sing along)

Ouchy the Green Nosed Reindeer, likes to play in people's hair! He lives inside the attic, he bites people who go there!

I'm sure it's indicative of some organic brain malfunction on my part but I thought that was very laugh out loud (even though sitting staring at a computer screen) funny.

Ok, back to the real world.

I found that link too disturbing to look at and I've seen a lot.
