Stone skipping
A lake, river, or seaside location somewhere near the olympic venue. Location is revealed 24 hours before contest. 2 categories:
1. Natural = 5 stones for each athelete chosen from within 100 meters of playing field (water).
2. Artificial = 5 pucks of whatever material you
like (good incentive for ceramics, etc industries) especially designed for the sport. Ads could be printed on them. Think of the commercial, "now back to the world stone skipping championship sponsored by Nike (puck spins into view and stops revealing the Nike logo)".
Within the 2 categories, there may be sub categories such as:
1. Most skips (of course).
2. Longest distance with 3 skip minimum.
3. Aesthetic curving skips that switch directions.
4. Target skipping.
5. Skipping over obstacles.
6. Heaviest object to achieve 3 skips.
7. Weight classes for the pucks.

There could be bonus points for injuring a duck or other wildlife. |
Also, in the X-Games equivalent, skippers would have to skip each other. |
I like ducks. I think that you should lose points for hitting them, but you should get an enormous bonus score for either a)disabling a jet-ski or b) dislodging the rider. |
The competers should have to find the rocks, too, before skipping them. |
Great idea! If something as loony as ice-skating can become an Olympic sport, then anything should be allowed. |
Fish skipping would be poetic. Pacific flounders. Also Sailcats. Or from yr boat. Freeze-dried jellyfish. |
