just dropped a whole heap of paper clips to the floor and it will take ages to pick them all up. now if they were magnetic they would all be stuck together.

of course if they were magnetised, it would enable you to stick up bunches of paper on to any magnetic surface

Sadly for you, it doesn't dispense magnetic paper clips, but it will help you pick up the ones on the floor. [DrCurry, Oct 05 2004]

Andrew has found a big one. http://www.epinions...etic_Paper_Clip_TAC
Just reduce the size. [breuk1, Oct 05 2004]

Which is why most paper clip holder have magnets in the top. (Paper clips in a magnetic holder will become slightly magnetized over time, but not enough to pick up a whole load at once, just one or two.)

Would play havoc if I tried to use them to aid the sorting of my iron-filing collection.

damn it, May 4th has been and gone and I forgot to say - May 4th be with you.

The 4th will be with you always.

Why not install a magnetic floor? You could store paper clips there.
