bubbles create pressure upwards in water. steam pushes
air upwards. Together water is pushed up and out of the
pipe.
It looks to me like you're trying to make one of these
http://www.instruct...g-parts-water-pump/ ...only using steam bubbles in place of pumped air. I think you'll have a bunch of engineering issues on your hands, but why don't you try it out and report back to us? Just watch out you don't scald your hands! [DrCurry, Nov 15 2012]

Bubbles create pressure in water. Bubbles push water both up and down. Pashute left with empty pipe, scalded hands and a large puddle of water to clean up. |

I believe this has been done with salt water and MagnetoHydroDynamics (MHD) technology. |

How IS this different from a coffee maker? |
|
|
The coffee that comes out is very, very weak. |

Prior to the Newcomen engine, there was a steam-operated condensing water pump that was just a chamber with a couple of valves ... |
|
|
No. They are not part of the motor. The electrons in
the electric teacup warming stick are, though. |

Thanks 8th! That link was worth all these years at the
