We've all seen the insane Jeb Corliss video of him in
a
wingsuit threading some crazy cliff crags and
coming mere feet
away from balloons.
I don't ever want to do that in real life.
But a high-fidelity sim of it would be cool.

A full physical sim, like indoor skydiving, or VR ? |
Direct VR via electrodes through perforations of the neurocranium. |
[8th of 7]; what do you mean, OR? VR while indoor-
skydiving! (Or, since you're in an enclosed space anyway, eye
tracking and the video projected on the walls of the indoor-
skydiving "tube".) |
We consider it was a reasonable question given the data in the idea. |
[wjt], would you like to try that ? |
Originally I had in mind just a variant of Microsoft
Flight Simulator, but the VR-enhanced indoor
skydiving angle is far superior. |
An OR crag flight path, overlaid on a safe wingsuit skydive, seems the truest experience for safety buck. While we have life we should really try to experience the truth of it, if possible. |
[8th] I know I have to open up but that might be overdoing it to the bone. |
Oh go on, try it- you know you want to.... |

See, [neut] ? Everyone knows how dull, plodding and unimaginative [Ray] is - of course he was only thinking of a chair-based software solution. |
The VR could be a pretty cool enhancement to a basic zip-wire. Most zip-wires just convey the rider over a drop, not actually close to things- except the ones in forests, and those would be suitable for a ROTJ skybike chase enhancement. |
Ray is thankfully still employed and mostly engaged in
matters that earn money or take care of younguns. All work
and no play, you know. |
Perhaps a controlled zip-wire through an actual crag. Of
course, then someone will want to turn it into a boring
roller-coaster... |
