So imagine your regular shaver with replaceable, disposable blades. Now, construct a circular assembly of blades somewhat similar to paddles on a waterwheel but on a flexible carriage and mount it to the handle on a rotary mechanism. At any given time three blades will be on plane to cut whiskers from
your face, and when the pressure on the shaver is eased to make another stroke a pawl in the carriage advances the mechanism one blade. In this manner each blade on plane will make three cuts to your whiskers before being rotated out of plane and around the back of the mechanism.

I like it -- reduces hair clogging of the blades by rotating a new set of 3 blades into place after every shaving stroke. |

How does it maintain blade tension to ensure they stay at the optimal angle and don't flop back while cutting dense stubble? |

[a1] Yes, and there's a missed marketing opportunity to create a beard trimmer in the form of a miniature lawnmower |
