Tie an Effigy to your Cat Day

We drag around way too much baggage...

Effigy: A crude figure or dummy representing a hated person or group.

Cat: A feline.

Tie: To fasten or secure with or as if with a cord, rope, or strap.

Everyone hates someone. We need a day to collectively tie their respective likenesses to our felines and have them carry our problems around with them all day.

I liked my misread of this better: Tie an Effigy to your Cat Day.

I suspect that this is the hidden subtext to the thanksgiving day parade.

[World] Yes, me as well. I'll try this at home and let you know how it works out.
normzone, Apr 27 2005

Well, I did it. Tied an effigy of a well-known president's son to my calico cat.

I'm not going to need stitches, but I'll have to take antibiotics for ten days.
normzone, Apr 27 2005

       Agreed. You've convinced me.
Blumster, Apr 29 2005

just give it a tail and fill with catnip and there is no need to append (is that a word?) the cat will play with it all day.
po, Apr 29 2005

No no no [po]. The effigy must be tied to the cat, or the comedic element is lost. My mind's eye is very clear on this point.

Can an idea be MFD'ed for being an echo of itself?
half, Apr 29 2005

Interesting philosophical question [half]. If we see the idea as an instance then, certainly, another instance of striking resemblance would have devestating effect, namely unoriginality. On the other hand, if we view the idea as a set of universals (we pretty much must since it has no real form outside of this percieved reality of cyberspace) then it is a whole other story. The slight shift in properties (universals, in the platonic or aristotelian sense, it doesn't matter) is no cause for alarm, but simply a mild shift of values.

Perhaps we should tie [Pa've] to both cats for entertainment value. [+]
disbomber, Apr 30 2005

That, mr. [disbomber], has enough merit for it's own idea.
Blumster, Apr 30 2005

       So noted.

       Could someone please illustrate this?

If so, thanks ahead of time.

If not, thats o.k., I still love you.

Alternatively Tie an Elephant to Your Cat Day.

Of course, then kitty would climb up the elephant and go to sleep.
