The Collective Consciousness Project

Capturing the collective experiences of a defined population

A website which captures the collective consciousness of a specific region/city. An organized central repository of the collective experiences of a population. Like halfbakery.com, but collecting experiences, instead of ideas.

Users can submit experiences they've had in different categories (roots, work, play, relationships, etc) and also challenge other users to submit experiences on specific subjects (ex: "Horror Roommate Stories"). Spread virally through word-of-mouth.... when you submit a work, you can email it to friends, asking them to comment/rate it on the site.

NOT xanga-like (ie: 'today I ate a snickerz bar. holla out to my peeepz!'), not blog-like because the focus isn't on a specific person (Catherine's Self-Induglent Blog All About Me). Rather, the focus is on a community's collective experiences.

Quality ensured by rating process (good stuff eventually floats to the top, dreck to the bottom).

Searchable via timeframe, subject, keywords, and location/cross streets. Different modules for every city.

There's many places to share experiences on the internet ... how about a large directory to all blogs, livejournals, and resources as such?

What if most in the community share a desire to holla out to their peeeepz?
