The Breakfast Truck

The idea is to have a breakfast truck that operates just like an ice cream truck. Strolling through the sprawling suburbs that are lacking grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance.

Why breakfast? Because let’s face it mornings are hard, and trying to conjure up a healthy breakfast on the daily is even harder. You’re sleepy, maybe woke up on the wrong side of the bed, it’s cold, and mornings are just not your jam. The Breakfast Truck is a solution that offers home cooked healthy breakfast options as well as a variety of cereals, milks, breads, fruit, all sorts of condiments, etc…and definitely the best coffee you’ve ever had because you didn’t have to make it yourself this morning.

How it works: The Breakfast Truck runs like an ice cream truck through neighborhoods between the hours of 5 am - 9 am. They drive around the neighborhood playing relaxing but upbeat music, I personally love the sound of the hang drum, but maybe it can even be nature sounds like birds chirping. The sound is important because you want to alert people without annoying them especially in the mornings. So gentle sounds are best. The one thing you have to do physically is go outside to meet the truck, no delivery, and whoever flags down the truck first is where the truck stops, just like an ice cream truck. From there other neighbors who want to order something can go up to the truck. After their orders are fulfilled the truck keeps it moving down the neighborhood and repeats the process during the hours of 5 - 9 am.

Logistics: EVERYTHING is made to go. The goal is to get your food and coffee as fast as possible so you can have a relaxing hassle free morning. Most of the food such as breads and baked goods, fresh veggies and fruits are prepared earlier that morning, eggs are very fast to cook and can be made on the spot. Just the basics: scrambled, fried, boiled, or simple cheese & veggie omelette. They can be made as stand alone plates or as breakfast sandwiches or breakfast burritos. Also breakfast smoothies can be made on the spot too.

The Breakfast Truck does not do pre-orders, but companies that have early shifts can request a breakfast truck to park at their lot. If there is someone with mobility issues in the neighborhood they can call the truck the day before to make a stop at their house. This would go by the honor system because who would fake mobility issues? Neighbors would have to be neighborly and help their neighbor out by ordering and delivering for them. The menu would be online and in print.

The Breakfast Truck can be a franchise. Territory can divided by zip codes or however the ice cream trucks do it.

I’ve been sitting on this idea for years waiting for someone to turn it into reality.
