You walk through the larger-than normal door and immediately you feel as if something is amiss, maybe even enchanting... it takes a few seconds before you realise that everything in this bar is just as it should be but a little larger. Not too much to be blantantly obvious, but just enough to give your
brain that swirly feeling. The pints are bigger, as are the tables and stools and bartenders behind a rather large bar. Absolutely everything in the place is propotionately bigger to create a fantastic surreal effect. A game of pool just doesn't seem the same with a larger and higher table complete with exaggerated balls and elongated que. The steps are a challenge, unlike the urinals. In summary, the whole experience of this place makes you feel a whole lot smaller... perhaps even younger. Of course, the prices are slightly larger too.

Take it the other direction! Boost your ego! Go to the 3/4 Pint Bar and feel like a giant! Not just because you're drunk! |

[swamilad] Beat you to the punch in an anno on 3/4 Pint Bar (link), mentioning that instead of shrinking the bar, make it larger. |

I concede... [swamiland] this should be yours! |

This would make those 6' 7" guys finally feel normal. (I always feel bad when tall people have to duck through doorways.)So here's a large bun.+ |
|

No, you could just hire people used to walking around on stilts. There has to be tons of those- sheetrockers, circus clowns, and umm, you know, people who... okay there aren't that many people who walk on stilts, but there should be! |
|
|
[miasere] No, but I am always conscious of others. Myself only being 5'4" - I am amazed that some people really have to duck! |

I was on a trip 8 years ago in Australia, and walked in to a "hotel" to ask directions. Turned out to be a bar, with a wooden floor about 20 cm above the entrance level, gigantic stools, tables, and very big glasses and bottles. The very tall people at that bar, looked at me, and all of a sudden I felt like a midget. I asked for directions, three of them came out to our car, stood hovering over it, and gave us a long explanation of which I only understood the end: "...right? So yadonwantostopthere no worries mite!" |
