given the ubiquity of computers and their greater versatility
and (b) you haven't provided an example of a problem that
this would work for. For instance, there are computer
algorithms that can find a better (though not necessarily
perfect) solution to the travelling salesman problem faster
than a human. |

But humans are slow, inefficient and notably error-prone; hence Mr. Babbage's intent to generate and print mathematical tables by mechanical means, to avoid the problems arising from human-generated versions. |

TV set sales are outstripped by phones, presumably smart, which can be cast to Televisions but this remote job market needs a steady supply of electricity and a mobile network. Not possible for some areas on the globe. |

Forget rich customers; the big bucks are in making very modest amounts of money from extremely large numbers of relatively poor customers. Plus the wealthy are selective, picky, demanding, and troublesome if they're in the slightest bit unhappy. The poor are much easier to victimize. |
