This'll only do for a sweetened tea, so that limits is usefulness, that said: Fashion the looseleaf tea into a sphere just a hair smaller than that of the teaball. Then coat the tea leaves in a sugary syrup and allow it to crystalize. Get your tea and your sugar in one packaged unit, and never worry about packing that silly ball again.
