Ugly statues are the norm in cities nowadays. Yes, I
know
they're supposedly "artistic" and "interpretive" and a few
other undeserved superlatives.
I say we get rid of them.
1. The Taliban hate statues.
2. The Taliban love blowing shit up.
3. The Taliban are in a bit of a PR slump
these days.
4. Pigeons love to sit on statues.
5. Pigeons are often the target of eradication programs.
6. Pigeons are often used to carry small packages.
Therefore, employ the Taliban to attach small, powerful
explosive charges to pigeons.
Release the pigeons, to let them sit on the statues.
Detonate the charges remotely, destroying pigeons and
ugly statues.
What could possibly go wrong?

There's also an interesting possibility towards raising pigeons in an area that's slated to be used for denial at some future time... then when the time comes set them free armed with/as bombs to return home... but that's too complicated and [po] will hit me over the Internet. |

I think the dislike of statues is related to their religiousity, hence the Buddha destructions, with merely very bad statuary falling towards the end of the too-boom list. |

Practically heatstork, in it's relevance to monotheism/art paradigm. |

Then set up the Church of Crap Urban Sculpture. All bow down before our lord and master, the strange metal figure on the roundabout on the outskirts of Redfern! |

the "please please..." link is the statue of the one famous local boy (which all small towns must have) he was the captain of the Titanic.. |

While in Russia I bought a poster with various images of statues of Lenin and other Russian leaders. Written on it, in Russian was the phrase 'It's Time to Harvest Stones.' To this day I'm not sure what it means, whether it was favor of capitalistic revolution or what. |
