Isn't taking the battery or SIM card out enough? |
Where's the profit there? Plus you must know that such a thing is possible, as I did not. |
How about just turning it off? |
Then you have to turn it back on again. |

This would be an interesting plot device in a movie. The police are tracking the cellphone signal of an assassin but then they lose the signal. Suddenly the signal returns, and when they arrive and kick down the door they find the cellphone in postal wrapping still in the opened Signal Blocking Cell Phone Case with a startled average american family looking on. |
Small biscuit tins work pretty well for this. |
Alternatively, you could take the tinfoil from
your hat and wrap it round the phone. |
/with a startled average american family looking on/
Do the police kill them? You know, on general principles? |
It turns out the family was not frozen in fear, but were in fact already dead, and previously stuffed and posed by the assassin, a deranged taxidermist. This was a great relief to the police who had entered firing a hail of bullets that had mostly struck the children. |
However, the mystery deepens when a bright-eyed up-start rookie detective poses the question of who opened the package. He is immediately arrested under suspicion of collaborating with the assassin, based on this revelation. He resists, and is too shot multiple times. |
It is later discovered that a small charge of compressed gas contained in the paper packaging had opened the package. Nobody dared inquire into the opening of the Signal Blocking Cell Phone Case. |
Ooooooo, it's just so BRITISH sounding! |
/He resists, and is too shot multiple times/
Any amount of shot is too shot for that poor rookie. |
Yes, yes, I can see how this story would go. Actually that is a lie; given this start I cannot at all guess how it would go. But I would definitely watch. Especially if it were BBC, and sort of a hybrid of their cop dramas and Monty Python. |

It's called the "Metropolitan Police" and it
would be hilariously funny if it were not for
the fact that people do actually die quite
frequently, some of whom aren't even black,
Irish, or actually guilty of anything. |

Isn't this what "airplane mode" is for? Even big brother can't overrule the FAA. |
"Close your signal blocking cell phone case" another
euphemism. |
//It seems like a good idea to enable the tracking feature
on your cell.// |
No it doesn't. Not even a little bit. |

What [Voice] said. You're just helping UNESCO
to aim their Secret Brane Ray better. |
What, a harmless, well-meaning and peaceful
organisation dedicated to learning and
knowledge? YES, THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY
WANT YOU TO BELIEVE
WHY DO YOU
THINK THEY BUILT THE SECRET BRANE RAY ?
AND IT'S WORKING, ISN'T IT? |
So is this the same thing as Airplane Mode? That mode makes me invisible? Inquiring minds want to know. |
21 Quest - Flight mode is good til somebody hacks the phone to pretend to be on flight mode. |
This is good for paranoid people. |
