Self-mashing potato

Mashes itself

Each potato has inside it embedded within its interior a spring-loaded device compressed and latched with a latching mechanism. The latch is released by a bi-metallic strip, by which release (after sufficient cooking to cook the potato to the required degree of mashability) the sharpened and pierced paddles of the spud-internal spring-loaded self-mashing-potato potato masher mashes the self-mashing potato in a single act of mashing.

The device may be extracted after eating, and re-used.

       SP 'before'

       Yes, "after" could be an involved and unpleasant process, requiring autoclaving of the device before re-use.

       //Baked// Disputed. The FMJP is clearly external and supplementary to the potato. This device is fully contained within the potato itself. Plus it is a purely mechanical device.

       [poc], the Prior Art is for // weaponised potatoes //, not your idea.

       OK as you were. I'll take my paranoia elsewhere for now.
pocmloc, Dec 10 2016

       No, don't do that. Keep it handy, we'll find something for you to use it on very soon.

       Not sure all of those can be implemented using the same internal spring-loaded metal device?
pocmloc, Dec 11 2016

       Nonetheless, installing an internal spring-loaded metal device in politicians has to be worth a try.

       I'm with [8th] on this - potatoes ARE baked.

       // something a bit darker //

       It must be considered that the actual process of installing the device may be painful, humiliating, and capable of causing serious long-term physical and psychological damage, even it it isn't triggered.

       So effectively, there's no downside.
