Screen scrape economy

Way to monetize social value

This is a Diaspora app, the social network that lets you own your data. The app would "scrape your screen" the way assistive technologies do, so that all of the data is generic, or so that you can get around all of the different social networks and search engines attempts to stop this from happening -- and then would statisti-fy all of the data so that you would have a personal measurement of when you said x and when your friends said y and whether y was equal to x + z or x was equal to y + z and where z came from and all of that. And then this diaspora app would coordinate with your friends apps to determine who was influencing who and what the measurement of that was and how to put numbers to that and then let that be the economy instead of money.

Sort of an interesting idea, and in one of the possible directions of graduate research I didn't take. There is a microsociological area called transactional something-or other analysis, it basically is a close examination of interrelations and communicative actions, and basically aims to classify transactional behaviour into 'games people play', how meaning is constructed, semiotics and lots of stuff using flow charts with rectangles and arrows pointing everywhere. I can sort of see how more efficient transactions can be used as money, and how some people would be rich and others would be poor, but there are some big leaps to make in explanation, that sort of is ironic in the context of this idea, so bun yet again.
