Just a de-vice to support those whom Christmas is a period of constant bruising change of weight. Also waterproof.

The grotto never felt so comfortable.

       I thought this would be a bar that served drinks to tired Santa’s at the end of a tough day listening to the wants of over privileged children. I’m not sure I understand what it is now. But [+] anyway

       We've ... reinvented the cushion? But this time, it's bolted to the chair, and conceals an entirely non-functioning patella joint? For those tired of the national colours of Poland, it's also available in the national colours of Indonesia?

       Yes, that's right, a no weight on the lap cushion. And yes, in Santa's colours. Summery, here in New Zealand.

       Is there a Satan version as well?

       There is now ...

       Wait a minute ...

       The one sitting on this is not the overweight man impersonating a semi-christianised shaman, but the over- entitled child of strangers. The design brief is to make the child think they're on an actual knee, when they're not - right? If that's so, it's not so much supporting as shielding those [to] whom Christmas is [etc.]

       In that case, the logical extension is an entire fake Santa except for a face-hole near the top, where the out-of- work actor can just insert his face through a comfortable nest of false beard while the rest of him, not even in costume, can be supported any way he likes. That way, it's much easier to swap in an understudy.

       Given the limited motion expected of a Santa, and the fact that their face is largely hidden beneath white hair, this is surely an opportunity for animatronics.

       Neither of you seem to understand the True Meaning of Christmas ...

       <Re-reads annos/>

       Oh, actually it seems you do. Very good, carry on.

       There is a curious symmetry here. From the point of view of confectionery, a Santa Bar might be expected to contain crushed nuts, while the object of the idea is to prevent crushed nuts ...

       Love this.

       Me, too! I was looking forward to the typical follow-up posts like the Santa Bar-room Brawl, Santa Bar None, and the ever-popular A Guy Walks into a Santa Bar...

       (Uh-oh - have I started a list???)
