A newspaper printed on newsprint with a bit more rigidity than usual in the paper, so it doesn't go all floppy and fall away from the reader when it's being held up to be read.

This would be especially important if you were reading a prismatic or an antipodal newspaper, where a different slant on the paper puts a different slant on the stories.
