A newspaper printed on newsprint with a bit more rigidity
than usual in the paper, so it doesn't go all floppy and fall
away from the reader when it's being held up to be read.
This would be especially important if you were reading a
prismatic or an antipodal newspaper, where a different
slant
on the paper puts a different slant on the stories.

Annotation:

Maybe sensual stroking of the flaccid pages could render them
hydraulically turgid. |

|
That usually makes a newspaper even more flaccid. |
