A police officer confirmed to me yesterday that anyone claiming to be pregnant is permitted to urinate in one of their helmets, which may be one reason why they've changed them. They currently need to take people at their word. My idea is very simple: include pregnancy testing devices in police helmets
to ensure that the member of the public in question is genuinely pregnant. This also has the benefit of facilitating the detection of certain cancers in non-pregnant individuals.

What if u just identify as pregnant? |

Um... why exactly are pregnant women allowed to urinate in a cops helmet? How far back does that law go? Does this law take into account Muslim women?... |
...just so many questions. |
Wait... are you just taking the piss?! |

Pardon me, I just got here. What is going on? |

"A police officer confirmed to me yesterday" ... |

You're should probably provide some context for this. Or, of course, be ignored, at best. |

Brilliant - a thousand croissants for the most perfect halfbaked idea in a long long time. |
One of "their helmets?" The woman in question must be wearing a helmet that she pees into? Must she have more than one helmet? Why would the cop care? Is she allowed to pee into her helmet if there is no cop around? If she has only one helmet? Will all pregnant women be required to wear helmets? Then no test is needed! Woo, woo, woo! |

(+) but it's a bit sexist. It would be better to give the police some removable liners for their helmets and allow _everybody_ to pee into them. I would be willing to pay extra tax if this helped to fund it. |

Brilliant! I feel an adjunct idea coming on... |
Pregnant mares' urine is used as a source for estrogen/HRT, so maybe the tax money isn't necessary to fund this project if the helmet liners can be used in a similar manner. Got to be better to have a human source of HRT, no? |

[bhumphrys], the current position is that anyone claiming to be pregnant has permission to use the helmet, so you could be right. |
I'll give it a go. Wish me luck. |
