Popsicle stick exploder pill

Make some struts, popsicle stick exploder [link] style, then surround them with powder and compress. Slight wetness or pH change sets off the exploder rods and the pill turns to tiny fragments in the stomach, making absorption more rapid. This would be good for tough little pills like Aleve or many others.

An improvement on this would be to make the tension sticks out of something like jello that plumps with water or pH. I think PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) does that.

Also, when the pill explodes it could explode into sudden release components and gradual dissolve components giving 12 or 24 hour effectiveness.

Now I can imagine critics saying, "Isn't this completely unnecessary?" The dynamics of pills dissolving also puzzles me. I think it is possible that, like untearable snack wrappers, some pills are just inexplicably badly made.

Compare a generic Vivarin with an Aleve. When you put it in water the generic Vivarin slumps into a goo rapidly, just swirl it around to make caffeineated water. The Aleve tablet just sits there.

Why? It is not enteric, it is just tough. Worse yet a person with a headache could imaginably wait 15 minutes or more for the thing to start working. Like a hard to open snack wrapper perhaps it is just messed up.

So, even though the instant dissolve pill already exists this is an idea for a pill that energetically disassembles in the stomach.

although I know it is supposed to be one idea per post: ZOTZ pill “zotz pill” returns zero finds at a search engine. Have pullulan (breath strip material) or laser perforated gelcap ends with less than a burp amount of zots mixed with naproxen or other ingredient. The half centimeter blob of foamy drug is instantly activating.
