Percussive Stenography

Drum Circle Over The Internet

The idea is simple: the keys on your computer keyboard trigger percussion notes. The number pad should provide ample space for several audio samples. Log in to the server and find a drum circle that's already grooving, or start your own.

A possible snag: lag-time. But maybe not--xbox live works....

I think I'd just log into a large drum circle whilst browsing the web and jump in from time to time whenever I was really feeling it.

Modulating the drumbeats with another signal containing a secret message would give you Percussive Steganographic Stenography.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

(I failed the hautbois once.Since then I've been having a problem with my tympanic membrane.)

All those who consider themselves a geek, raise thy hand. Those who think they are musicians, raise the other. Now quick, someone count ;-)

+ Halloween, some years ago, we had 300 people walk out of the club while we were playing (we were kicked off stage after about 15 minutes) after following some techno. However, one of the people in the audience was a member of The Clean, an old New Zealand indie band, and he grabbed the drummer after the show and told him that he thought we were excellent and had a lot of potential. He didn't recognize us individually from the stage and said that the only problem was that we needed a new drummer.
