Parkrun Dawn Chorus Choir

In my home town there are at ten different parkruns. This means there are literally hundreds of participants in this brilliant event, and although not everyone can run, they can still participate in a unique celebratory manner by exercising their vocal chords.

This is the origin of the Parkrun Dawn Chorus Choir.

Anyone can join the choir. All that's required is that they spend 5 minutes seranading the runners as they warm up. The nature of the seranade is a human voice imitation of the 'real' dawn chorus that takes place every morning as numerous birds wake up and greet the new day.

Parkrun Dawn Chorus Choir participants must each create their own vocal version of a bird chirping, singing, warbling, squawking etc then together generate a cacophony of sound to the assembled runners on the start line area.

The only additional requirement for all Parkrun Dawn Chorus Choir members is to make and bring a bird's beak, which they must wear while delivering their chorus sounds. Scratching around; flapping arms; picking at the ground, and mimicking bird's general behaviours is optional.
