The bhumphrys 80:20:10 rule states:
"20% of the things you are looking for in the supermarket take 80% of the time, and also furthermore 10% of these 20% take 90% of the time"
Cut out all the fruitless roaming accompanied by the background music of 'Sounds like Abba'. A search app connected into
the location data of the supermarket. I know they have it themselves because I have seen them using it in Tesco.
To find your pickled rhubarb leaves: "Go to aisle 10, second shelf on the left", or, "Footstools? We don't stock that, you fool! This is not that kind of a shop" .
Ps while researching for this slightly crappy idea, I happened across the hilarious Xenzag idea in the link which is now one of my favourites.
Badly needed

... and the reason they won't give it to you is, they want you to wander around until your declining blood-sugar motivates you to impulse-buy something you didn't go in there for. I'm simplifying slightly, but only slightly. |

Damn [pert] beat me to it. |

Why d'you think they change the locations of the popular products every so often? |
|
|
I suppose if they had business savvy they could have it as a paid-for subscription service. And to stop people free-loading on the ones who had paid, instead of paying for the app up front, a tracker is fitted to your trolley which measures how directly your track around the shop targets only the items that you have purchased (with a quality / value for money filter so that the crap impulse purchases on the way round are not counted). The more direct your route around the shop is, the higher % premium is added onto your final bill. |

Go in, walk directly to the bog roll display, grab one, walk directly to the milk fridge, grab a pint, walk directly to the checkout nearest the door, Kerching! That is a 180% "efficiency premium" added to your total to pay. Have a nice day! |

[poc] and [pert]. Question answered. Thanks. |

I completely forgot about the hive cartel mind of clever capitalists. |

My local grocery store has an app that will let you search and show you the aisle and fairly precise location in that aisle. By number, not graphically. |

Wonderful. Are there any houses available to buy or rent near you, [Voice]? I'm moving there right away. |
