Rain is a pain in the ass, mostly because, in order to be
comfortable
and unashamed the rest of the time, we have to wear clothes
when
we are dry that feel bad to us when they get wet. This is because
clothes
that do not feel bad to us when they get wet, feel bad when they
and we are dry.
Your first solution? Take the uncomfortable
clothes off. But now you
are
cold, and ashamed. Well you can take your shame off too but
then you
will go to hell.
Oops,
it's a giveaway! Truth be told, the Catholic Church's obsession
with shame came long after my time. Actually what I wore on the
cross was basically just what I wore around every day. Anyway, I
can't solve your shame, but I can solve your cold.
My solution? A waterproof (plastic covered) heating coil
with battery pack, in the shape of a body. Now you can be warm,
be
wet, and run through the rain in peace, as long as you can chalk
the
shame up to making a political statement. An added benefit is
that
you get lots of ventilation. No hotness under the collar with a coil
suit.
Naked heater coil raincoats will be the first step toward naturism
in
everyday society.

Naked? Raincoat? I think this person may need to be put on some sort of registry. |
|
|
Why the shame? If it is in the shape of a body it
would cover your privy bits just fine. Perhaps even
stylishly! |
|
|
Or maybe you are leaving ventilation holes. I think a
sketch is in order, JHC. |
|
|
Or you can just wear nothing but wool. It's uncomfortable
enough to begin with that it isn't that much worse when it's
wet, and it stays warm. |
|
|
What's the energy source ? Lightweight,
compact, able to supply several kW for
sustained duration
that's difficult to
achieve. |
|
|
Oh, and an aversion to naturism has nothing
to do with "shame"
more that most
humans are really not that pleasant to look
at and are definitely better covered up. And
having somewhere to put your keys and
money. |

Backpack with a rechargeable car battery? Posting useless
drawing. |

In towns with electric trams or trolleybusses, the heating coils could be powered with a long electrical pickup contacting the overhead cables |
|
|
I initially envisioned a body-shaped plastic bag that's
heated inside. That made me sweat thinking about it,
and I was prepared to fish... then I saw your sketch and
realized the brilliance of it all. I mean IT ALL. You
continue to inspire, JHC, and I'm gratefully bunning this. |

Thank you >> awesomest <<, you must either be my secret other

Q So how do you know water attracts electricity ? |

A Every time I am in the bathtub the phone rings. |

There's a Jewish tradition about the time of the
messiah's return, before which children will not
respect their parents and people in general will
not respect elders. Truth will be lost by being
divided into many small groups, and great wars will
evoke. |
|
|
But then: The expelled Jews will return to their
homeland, an actual resurrection of the dead will
occur, woman will lead, animals and plants will
become intelligent (and banned from being
eaten), the evil-will shall become extinct, and
clothing will not be worn. |
|
|
And finally: death will be banished away. |
|

Full disclosure: the H stands for Hebrew. |

[pachute] I doubt most of that is from an _old_
prophesy. Such
predictions
have always been made after they seem highly
possible and been claimed as old. For other
examples
look at "ancient prophesies" that seemed to
predict
the car and are either not clearly prophetic or
were
almost certainly actually penned after the modern
automobile was a common idea.
In
particular I doubt the parts about animals and
plants becoming intelligent and banned from being
eaten and I doubt the parts about women leading
came from anything but a 2000 year old religious
fundamentalist associating that with moral decay.
As for children disrespecting their parents
while that quote commonly attributed to Plato,
Aristotle, and/or Socrates was never spoken by
them it's almost inevitable that there were similar
battles of culture between youth and the aging in
ancient times. |
