The wife of a senior couple living in East Orange, NJ is desperate to alleviate her husband’s suffering from a terminal illness.

Many expensive medications that he needs are not covered by health plans, so she decides to take an alternate route to ease his pain by buying street drugs from a local dealer.

She gets closer to the dealer, a boy/young man whom she “adopts” into her life, giving him the support he never had that helps him to clean up his life and pursue a legitimate professional career.

In a twist, tragedy strikes when she gets killed by a rival dealer’s gang.

Annotation:

The title sucks, the category choice is lazy, and the entire description is one "sentence".

       Welcome to the HB though.

devoid of invention. Sorry mm, but you need to try harder than this feeble offering.

       I dig this idea.

I would have thought that the rival gang would be pleased with Grandma's work - taking one of their competitors out of the dealing game.

I like it, but grannies death is icky. How about a shootout with the police from grannies appartment?

Kind of pre-baked by Irvine Welsh, and also rather starkly in the film, "Requiem for a Dream". Only without the formula plotline.

Ah, zentom, you have no idea. I have more lame movie-plot ideas stashed away than you can shake a stick at. Where the hell does that expression come from, anyway? What good would shaking a stick at a big bunch of stuff do?

And is a "pinching a loaf" a eupemism for something? If it isn't, it should be, and may well be - just as soon as I can find a suitably puerile application for it. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking along the lines of toilet humour.

[Murdoch] I'm sure they're all wonderful, each and every one. In response to your stick issue, I had a brief look, and apparently, the first recorded usage was in the US, way back in 1818, at a toothpick factory in Illinois...

Pinching a loaf is indeed a euphamism, yes. I refer you to Roger's Profanisaurus. [linked]
