A family of singing child celebrities and their single mother are rescued from a life of empty and unsatisfying exhibitionism when a retired naval officer is kind enough to take them in hand and teach them the value of self-restraint and devotion to higher causes.

At the climax of the film, the family must flee from a menacing team of Caring Professionals who want to imprison the captain for child abuse and institutionalize the children.

The main question yet to be settled in my mind is this:
Should Maria
a) marry the captain,
b) retire to a nunnery to re-evaluate her life or
c) shack up with the wealthy and sophisticated baroness?

There should be Nazis helping the Captain. Maria and the Captain will divorce so that Maria can go and join a nunnery.

And the nuns should open a garage to mend the Germans' cars.

Maria finds out that the seemingly innocent night spent in passionate embrace with that young german soldier, was anything less than innocent.

She gives birth nine months later to the new youngest von Trapp, (a *halfbaked* step brother, of course, or so everyone believes.)

Here's a funny thing; though hardly anyone has stated their vote (thank you, [xandram]), the times of day that the votes arrived suggest a clear pattern by timezone, viz.,
the Yerpians hate this idea,
the Merkins love it and
the Strines couldn't give a XXXX either way.

Well, it made me laugh anyway.

Guess who just messed with your data? And the different time zones in the US should prove something too. Like the West Coasters are more fun loving, and hence more likely to vote for your fun loving idea! Hahahahaha...

//That *would* be more in keeping with the actions of Pope Pious during that time period//
[21Q] At the time of the Anschluss, Pius XI had been Pope since 1922, and had published a syllabus against racism just the month after the annexation.
To what "actions" were you referring?

He died three years before the Wannsee conference even took place.

Which pope is referred to as "Hitler's pope"? (I need to declare a 100% loathing of the catholic church at this point) I once applied for the position of pope... they never replied.

Doesn't help me at all guys. Even reading the title backwards gave me nasty flashbacks. The basic standard for TSoM references should be "first do no harm". My sensitivity to TSoM is on the severe peanut allergy level. Having read this page I went into shock and was rushed to the hospital. Now, having recovered I write to you wearing gloves. I hope that you will all be more careful about TSoM in the future and in respect for the safety of others include (TSoM CAUTION EXPOSURE RISK) in the title of any joke TSoM posts. If you plan handle TSoM content directly or expose others to it please include the phrase TSoM (DANGER HAZARDOUS WASTE) in the title. On other forums this has reduced injuries due to TSoM content by over 90%.

Prophylaxis using 40% ethanol solution administered orally has shown good effectiveness against TSoM exposure in controlled trials.

I'm guessing that to prevent much of the orally administered treatment being lost to emesis it would need to be administered at least an hour ahead of time and in significant quantity. In fact I project that profilaxsis would parallel blood EtOH with values falling off below .02.
