Not far from home is a Model Village, apparently a
successful tourist attraction. I dont know if this is a
peculiarly British thing, but I know there are some
number
of these across the country. See the film Hot Fuzz for an
example.
At a rough guess, the model buildings are 1:50 scale.
Its
not an exact model of a particular village (although I
believe there are some that are) but does have some
recognisable local buildings.
Im planning to make a donation: a 1:50 scale model of
the
model village. They can have it on the condition that its
actually displayed within the model village, and Ill need
to know exactly where, because within the model I
make,
Ill need to include a tiny model of the model of the
model.

Interesting concept. At some point, it will be possible to
produce the model model model... using one of those atom-
moving gizmotrons. |

I hear that Rentisham's is going in the other direction. As
you're doubtless aware, the Rentisham's factory is located in
the Rentisham Village, which was built by the company's
founder to house the workers from the factory. The
weather in that part of the country has always been pretty
foul and so, to solve this problem and reduce heating bills,
Rentisham's is sponsoring the construction of a 1:50 scale
model of the Rentisham's factory. It will be built over the
existing factory and village, protecting all from the
inclement elements. |
|
|
If this scheme works out well, it may be expanded, starting
with the construction of 50:1 replica of Rentisham's covered
stockyard and gacking shed. This would enclose the
neighbouring village of Fopp's Bottom. |

Im thinking of offering a donation to The Big
Pineapple tourist attraction in Woombye,
Queensland too. I cant decide whether itll be an
800m tall pineapple model, or a... well...
pineapple-sized model. |

In the Cotswolds, in the very attractive town of
Bourton-on-the-Water, there is a model representing Bourton-on-
the-Water. This model contain a tiny model of the model, which in
turns contains a tinier model of the model of the model (see link). |

[hippo]; you beat me to it. xkcd knows all. |

It's possible to calculate the quantization limit below which pushing quarks around limits the smallest model that can be created. |

[neutrino] yay! [8th] thats the Matryoshka Limit in the linked
XKCD - you cant achieve more than six levels of nested model
train layout |

Thank you thank you all. This is so good, I know it
makes the idea already baked, but please can I
leave it up? |

That is your call. Unless someone [ marks - it - for - deletion ] and a moderator drops the hammer then it probably won't take up that much server space. (+) |
