I'm one of those people that likes a *little* delicate bit of marmite on a piece of hot toast just slathered in butter. Has to be butter, mind, none of this spreadable buttermilk mixed with nonbiodegradable margarine.

A problem I often find is if the marmite is cold; the glob of marmite on the knife doesn't spread nicely onto the crisp toast surface, but 'wipes' the butter (and the top layer of toasted crumbs) off the toast.

Hence the need for Marmite Spray. Point it at your toast and press the plunger. A fine marmite mist settles onto your toast without disrupting the fine crumbly surface. Mmmmm. Spray more for a stronger hit.

Or use for a handy instant moustache disguise that you can lick off when you don't need it any more.

I hate Marmite, but [+] anyway. You may need some sort of volatile carrier solvent.

pile it high and deep for me. but i'll give you a bit of bread for just posting something that puts more Marmite into the world. +

       I love Marmite +

[+] from another Marmite-lover. Also, anecdotal evidence suggests eating marmite works as a mosquito deterrent (true in my experience), so perhaps spraying //a fine marmite mist// into the air could produce the same benefit for non-Marmite-eaters?

Wouldn't Bush be interested in this as an air-dispersal system for an obviously toxic nerve agent? Marmite is a crime against humanity.

I'm not so shallow as to bone this for the marmite factor, but a big thumbs down for anything that contains marmite.

Vegemite, now, that's a different story.

Excellent idea [+], not nearly halfbaked enough. Combine it with spray butter and trigger it with the toaster and you're cooking on gas (by cooking I mean toasting and by gas I mean a metal element with a current flowing through it. No screw it, make a gas toaster, halfbaked all the way).

Can also be used for Marmite grafitti
hippo, Oct 04 2007

could also be sensibly applied to tapenade, humus, tzatsiki and even (dare I say it) baba ganoush ?

My way... toast the bread, then spread Marmite on the hot toast, *then* put the butter on top of the Marmite. No more smeary nonsense, lots of Marmitey goodness

Got to bone this. Marmite pots are just as iconic as Marmite itself - this whole conveniencising of classic spreads and sauces has gone far enough. First it was squeezy ketchup, then squeezy Marmite, then green ketchup....

Look. Marmite comes in little black oval pots where you have to scoop out a dollop with a knife and twist it around so that you don't leave a trail of Marmite between pot and plate. Heinz tomato ketchup comes in hexagonal glass bottles which you have to hold upside down and slap for five minutes before anything comes out. End of.

Thank you [bung]. We must put a stop to this condiment treachery.
